Character Information

Known History

Masako was a popular Geisha from the Gion Kōbu okiya in Kyoto, Japan. Her gifts as a medium manifested themselves at puberty, and her shrewd "Mother" made full advantage of this. Masako became a highly publicized Reibai (spirit medium) who would entertain as well as cast fortunes, attend shrine dedications and speak to dead ancestors.

She appeared out of nowhere in eastern Europe somewhere around the 1930's, and by the end of the second World War was embraced by the Toreador Jasper Renfield of Bonn, Switzerland.

Masako has kept a rather low profile since her embrace, and was a citizen of Copenhagen, Denmark until her arrival to the United States. She has starred in a documentary film, Ghost Stories which has earned her much fame as a Medium. It was released in 2010 with great success. (Fame 5: Medium)

Rumors

  • Masako speaks excellent English, but it is known to degrade at whim. Especially if she thinks she is in trouble.
  • Is very particular to differentiate the difference in pronunciation between her name and that of Her Fury, the Former Brujah Justicar Masako. She pronounces her name with a emphasis on the softer S sounds (Masa-ko), as indicative of the dialect of her native region.
  • Is not really a Toreador, but a very clever Malkavian. It would explain how she is constantly hearing "voices nobody else can hear"
  • Was once given a pony as a gift from JP, the childer of Joseph Hanover.
  • Served as a "humane" scourge for some time in Iowa City, and was highly effective. She resigned however fearing the toll it was taking on her humanity.
  • Was a Allied Spy during WWII.
  • Has a very strong fear of mirrors.
  • Been on the arm of several Camarilla luminaries, and some Giovanni. However, she only claims one kindred patron whom she entertains almost exclusively.
  • Lived in Japan for several years as a Kindred, and was tolerated by the Jade Court.
  • Has an odd choice of "friends." Those whom she has been known to frequent the company of are either of very low humanity or are otherwise fairly creepy.
  • Spends way too much time with the Giovanni for comfort.
