Character Information

Isabel Night – christened Mercy Palazzi – was born on June 6, 1983 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. The daughter of Carmine "Red" Palazzi and his German wife, Barbara Ann Yeager, Isabel comes from three generations of soldiers. Her father served a tour in Vietnam from 1969 – 1970 in the United States Navy SEABEES, while her mother's father – Grandpa Leo – fought in the Korean War as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Her paternal grandfather – Grandpa Joseph – fought the Nazis during WWII in the United States Army Corp of Engineers, while his father – Great-Grandpa Carmine – was a child solider fighting for Italy in the trenches of WWI.

Isabel's mother died of Breast Cancer when she was two years old. Raised by her father and both sets of grandparents, it was stable and loving home, but ruled by her opinionated grandmothers who hated each other. As she got older, Isabel ended up inheriting both grandmothers' opinionated attitude. Thus, she tends to stay away from Kindred Politics. To Isabel, Kindred Politics is complicated enough, and opinionated assholes DO NOT work well within the Kindred political system.

Another thing in Isabel's family was the presence of art. Her Grandpa Joseph loved to draw, but it was Isabel's Aunt Camille – her father's baby sister – who became her primary artistic mentor. Like many modern, American artists, she was taught in balancing your art with the needs of society and everyday life. This means that - as an author - she must produce, publish, and be a contributing member to society. Needless to say, patronage is a foreign concept to her.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Writing, Isabel moved back home to Providence, RI. In the Summer of 2007, however, something odd happened. One evening, Isabel went to a promotional event held by a self-published author, and afterward, she and the author discussed the book. For some reason, the author started glancing toward the nearest bookshelf. Isabel followed her gaze and saw a man staring at her. He quickly looked away, and then randomly grabbed a book off the shelf. The author pulled Isabel away, telling her that he'd been staring at her the whole time they were talking.

Unknown at the time, it was Isabel's first encounter with her Sire. Her second encounter wouldn't happen until Halloween 2007 when around midnight, she and her best friend Rachel were attacked by a Sabbat Pack. Earlier that evening, they accidentally stumbled upon a Sabbat Festival... Isabel's Sire theorizes - and Isabel believes his theory - it was the festival of Palla Grande. Rachel was killed by the Pack, but Isabel escaped. As she was running for life, Isabel's Sire appeared and saved her. However, he wanted payment. Somehow, he had gone through her writing and thought she would be an asset to Clan Toreador. That night, Mercy Palazzi became Isabel Night.

Like her father, who watched in horror as his 19-year-old best friend, Paul, took an IED for him in Vietnam, Isabel still carries a lot of guilt about Rachel's death. She rarely talks about the event in detail, and, to a greater extent, understands the pain her father has felt since the 1970's. Both father and daughter feel guilty that they survived while their friends died.

In Spring 2023, Isabel made her way to Baltimore, MD for a gathering known as Glitter & Gloom. There, she met a Toreador Anarch named Adrian Final. At the Toreador Meeting, Adrian told them about himself, and her Clanmates feared him. Isabel felt sorry for him. When someone suggested that he try to learn humanity, she volunteered to teach him.

Isabel currently resides in Leonardtown, MD where she is nursing a broken heart due to Adrian being ripped to death by Lupines. She's also dealing with a strange gap in her memories and is starting to go back to Gatherings. She is also getting back into submitting stories for art shows held by her clanmates.

Confirmed Rumors

• Lizzie's real name is Mercy. Initially, her mother wanted to name her Mercedes, but her dad thought it sounded like the name of a car. So they compromised and came up with Mercy instead. According to this website Mercedes is a Spanish title of the Virgin Mary: Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes or Our Lady of Mercies.
  
• Lizzie's family IS Roman Catholic. Her father and grandparents taught her how to pray the Our Father and Hail Mary. She learned other prayers as she got older.
  
• Lizzie's great-grandfather - Grandpa Leo's dad - was named Isadore. This may partially be the reason elaborate names are common in her mother's family.
  
• Lizzie's Birthday is the same day as the Battle of Normandy during WWII. Her Grandpa Joseph was not at that battle, but at the Battle of the Bulge.
• Lizzie is very comfortable with computers. She can use Google, Bing, Facebook, and other internet tools.
