Thomas Heard Poetry (I Wish For Oh So Many Things)
I Wish For Oh So Many Things
I wish for oh so many things
To know nothing but the lovely Spring,
To wear a golden wedding ring,
To never know Death’s fatal sting.
But what’s the price that is paid,
To pay for such immortal aid
To only dance in greenest glade
To ever still Death’s fatal blade?
The cost, I’m sure, is not too much,
To never know of Spring as such,
To never know a lover’s touch,
To never feel Death’s fatal clutch.
