Tori Parris was born on June 23, 1987, in Rapid City South Dakota to a single mother, Helena Parris, who had recently moved to the United States from her home country of Greece. The product of an arranged marriage, Tori never met her birth father, but her mother soon remarried to Elliot Davis, a member of the Rapid City Police Department. Helena and Elliot had a second child, William, with whom Tori formed a very close bond despite only being half siblings. Tori was only 2 when William was born, so the difference in fathers barely registered to her in any practical sense.

With a doctor for a mother and a police officer for a father, Tori  and William (who went by Billy) didn't see much of their parents growing up, which only further deepened their bond with one another as they grew older, coming to rely on and protect one another through adolescence. Tori was very much a nerd growing up, focusing heavily on her school work and burying herself in study while Billy excelled at sports.
