Character Information

Born on June 6, 1983, at Hershey Medical Center, Isabel Night - christened Mercy Palazzi - was the daughter of Carmine "Red" Palazzi and Barbara Ann Yeager. Coming from three generations of soldiers, her father served a tour in Vietnam from 1969 – 1970 in the United States Navy SEABEES. Her mother's father - Grandpa Leo - fought in the Korean War as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Her paternal grandfather - Grandpa Joseph - fought the Nazis during WWII in the United States Army Corp of Engineers, while his father - Great-Grandpa Carmine - was a child solider fighting for Italy in the trenches of WWI.

Isabel's mother died when she was two years old from breast cancer, so she was raised by her father and both sets of grandparents. While it was a loving and stable home, it was ruled by her opinionated grandmothers who hated each other. Isabel ended up getting that same opinionated attitude from them and, as a result, doesn't get into politics because she knows that opinionated assholes do not make good leaders.

Another thing in Isabel's family was the presence of art. Her paternal grandfather was an artist and loved to draw. Isabel's Aunt Camille - her dad's baby sister - was her primary mentor in balancing the love of writing stories she'd developed as a teenager with real-world demands. As a result, she sees art in a more practical stance: how do you balance your love of art with the needs of everyday life?

After graduating college, Isabel moved back home to Providence, RI where in the Summer of 2007 she had an odd encounter. One evening at a promotional event held by a self-published author, both were discussing the book when the author started glancing toward the nearest bookshelf. Isabel followed her gaze and saw a man staring at her before randomly grabbing a book off the shelf. The author then pulled Isabel away, saying that the man had been staring at her the whole time they were talking.

This was Isabel’s first encounter with her Sire. Her second encounter wouldn’t happen until Halloween 2007. That night, she and her friend Rachel were attacked by a Sabbat Pack after accidentally stumbling upon a Sabbat Festival. Rachel was killed by the Pack, but Isabel escaped. While fleeing, her Sire appeared and saved her. However, he wanted payment. He liked reading the stories Isabel wrote and thought she would be an asset to Clan Toreador. So he Embraced Isabel against her will that evening.

Like her father, Isabel carries a lot of guilt. For her, it stems from that Halloween Evening. For her father, it came during Vietnam. During his time in the SEABEES, Carmine watched in horror as his 19-year-old best friend, Paul, took an IED for him. The 21-year-old would never forget watching the top half of Paul's body get blown to pieces. To this day, both still feel guilty that they survived while their friends died.

In Spring 2023, Isabel made her way to Baltimore, MD for Glitter & Gloom where she met a Toreador Anarch named Adrian Final. At the Toreador Gathering, Adrian told them about himself, and her Clanmates feared him. Isabel felt sorry for him, and when someone suggested that someone try to teach him humanity, she volunteered. Currently, Isabel resides in Leonardtown, MD where she is nursing a broken heart due to Adrian being ripped to death by Lupines. She is also dealing with a strange gap in her memories.
