Born on June 6, 1983 to Carmine “Red” Palazzi and Barbara Ann Yeager, Isabel – christened Mercy Palazzi - had the blood of soldiers in her.  Her father had served a tour in Vietnam from 1969 – 1970 in the United States Navy SEABEES, while her mother’s father fought in Korea in the United States Marine Corp.  Her paternal grandfather fought the Nazis during WWII in the United States Army Corp of Engineers, while his father - Great-Grandpa Carmine - was a child solider fighting for Italy in the trenches of WWI.<br />

Isabel’s mother died when she was 2 years old from breast cancer, and she was mostly raised by her father and both sets of grandparents.  While it was a loving and stable home, it ruled by her grandmothers who hated each other and were very opinionated.  Isabel ended up getting that same opinionated personality from them, and as a result, refuses to get into politics.  She believes that opinionated assholes do not make good leaders.<br />

One of the very strange things in Isabel’s family was the presence of art.  Her paternal grandfather loved to draw and was very good at what he did.  Isabel’s Aunt Camille was her primary mentor in how to balance her art – the love of writing stories that she’d developed as a teenager – with real world demands.  As a result, she sees art in a more practical stance: how do you balance your love of art with the needs of everyday life?<br />

After graduating college, Isabel moved back home to Providence, RI where in the Summer of 2007 she had a very strange encounter.  That evening she had gone to a promotional event held by a self-published author.  As they were discussing the book after the event was over, the author kept glancing away from Isabel towards someone else.  When Isabel looked, she saw a man staring at her who quickly pulled a book from the shelf and began reading it.  The author pulled Isabel away, saying that the guy had been staring at her the whole time they’d been talking.<br />
