Vi was a police officer in the Organized Crime unit for the NYPD - until she and her partner, Delancey, were turned by two Brujah, who were fighting the Sabbat. Unfortunately, their "parents" separated them, with Vi's sire going one way and Delancey's sire going another. As soon as Vi was acknowledged, she left her sire and went looking for Delancey. Unfortunately, she was jumped by unknown assailants and fell into torpor for five years. As soon as she re-awoke, she went looking for Delancy - and finally found him in the Mid-Atlantic area.
