City of Lights

Shining city of lighted fame:
Minstrel of immortal song,
Sculpture whom can do no wrong,
Painter, artist: All these you claim.
But more; for you are the muses' flame
The guide of Man against the throng
Seer who's vision doth prolong
Master's work and master's name.

But all consumed by war are we
In wilderness, so far from grace
Like storm tossed souls in churning sea
Clinging for life, we hug debris
To your light, we turn our face
And pray your grace will set us free.
